I am sore and tired, but glad that I was able to get out for the two
weekends of the 10G contest. In August, I had planned to rove, but
delays in getting my equipment functional caused me to start very late
and so I went to Buck Hill to operate. In September (last weekend) I did
manage to get out and rove with that group.
148 QSO's
23 Unique Callsigns worked = 2300 QSO Points
27,110 Distance Points
29,410 Total Score
Best DX was 247 Km. I ran in the 10 GHz Only category this year.
My thanks to all of you, particularly those who endured cold and rain on
Sunday. It was a great two weekends. And my thanks to all those who
tried unsuccessfully to work me at various stops on Sunday. CW came to
my rescue on quite a number of QSO's, but some QSO's were just
impossible for me. I am jealous of those folks with better systems than
mine, and I need to do some work to improve both my hearing and my
output power.
In a few months, I will no longer have the excuse of spending too much
time at work. My last work day is 12/30/11, and then retirement beckons.
