I noticed that the Claimed Scores have now been revealed for the
2011 UHF Contest Logs Received and it is looking like a VERY
close 'battle for the gavel' between NLRS and BC. I have also
confirmed, with one of my contacts out in the Southern
California Contest Club, that there was no effort by SCCC for
this year's UHF Test.
The 9 logs listed for NLRS add up to 290928 Claimed, while 7 of
the 8 BC logs (W9GA's does not show a Claimed Score but also see
below) claim a total of 279942.
The Packrats are in the mix, too, with 204522 from 7 logs and
SMC with 196404 from 4 logs but hard to imagine either of them
finding over 80k points to get in to the battle.
Obviously these numbers are the "Claimed Scores" so still
subject to Log Checking (with possible reductions there or even
incorrect "claims") AND to verification of meeting Club
Competition requirements (operators being members residing AND
operating withIN the Club's territory/circle) so there may be
adjustments and, while Ken posted an e-mail stating his score
was about 14k that could edge BC past NLRS's total, Ken also
noted that he submitted it late so there may be some other
factors to consider and for Sean to review.
Also interesting is that, with the reduced log count, of 24
Clubs listed in the Logs Received data, only EIGHT Clubs made
the minimum of 3 logs to be eligible for the Club Competition
and some may be in the "Local" Club category.
At least this will be ONE interesting aspect for the results
article that I will be writing, once I receive the FINAL
"adjudicated" scores in about two to three weeks (and then I am
'sworn" to secrecy until the release of the article to the web).
