[NLRS] (Fwd) Ever seen the Rusian Woodpecker up close?

I've seen some of those photos before. I also have its coordinates
around somewhere so it can be seen on Google Earth. Awesome antenna!

We used to have a 140 foot diameter dish 30 miles from here at the
site of the former University of Illinois radio telescope near
Danville, IL. It was abandoned some time in the 80's. A ham friend of
mine was trying to find out who might give us permission to use it for
EME when they decided to sell it for scrap metal.
