The best article is titled: "ISM Radio Bands: Will the Concept Work in
the Future?" The author talks about all the QRM from unlicensed radios
and RF heating, but hasn't noticed ham radio with 60 to 100 dB greater
ERP on those bands. He points out that the QRM is causing adaptive
radios to look for quiet places for setting up communication. That to me
hints we may need to add individual beacons a few kHz from our receiving
frequency to drive those adapative radios to other frequencies than
where there are weak signals that they don't notice.
http://www.highfrequencyelectronics.com The December 2011 issue isn't
available yet on line.
In new products, Micro Lambda Wireless, Inc. announces the production of
TO-8 PC board compatible YIG tuned oscillators for the range 2 to 13
GHz. They are about 1/2 inch tall by 5/8" diameter.
A most interesting ad is from the RF Relay Store www.rfrelaystore.com
where they say their products start at $49 each for 10 to 14 units and
they ship from stock. They take credit cards from on line shoppers. I
recall looking there and they do sell single lots, but the prices are
higher than $49 in single lots.
