[NLRS] WTB 2304 Antenna

If you do a Google search for "wifi biquad dish feed" you will find MANY
articles about building a simple feed for a DSS offset dish. The
articles are all talking about 2.4GHz but there is enough information to
explain the minor change of length required to bring the Biquad feed
down to 2304. At least one article says to expect around 11dB of gain
which means the feed is not very optimized.

There are hundreds of articles on the Internet about building simple
antennas for 2.4GHz and none should be very difficult to move down to
2304MHz. By my calculation, making each quarter-wave element 2mm longer
should move from 2450MHz center down to 2300MHz For the Biquad, change
from 30.5mm to 32.5mm per side.

The old MDS style wire-frame dishes are not hard to find and easy to
buy. I have some that I'm using on 2.4GHz WiFi but I haven't tested them
on 2304 so I don't know how good the return-loss is at that frequency.
But I'd guess it is just a simple dipole feed with a reflector plate
under the plastic c0over. The ones I have are from Lance Industries
although they are all pretty standard. These dishes are usually spec'ed
in the 22-24dBi range and the mounting bracket can be positioned for
either vertical or horizontal polarization.

I do believe Kent WA5VJB *did* write one article about building a Cheap
Yagi for 2.4GHz WiFi. I haven't checked my files but I think it used a
wooden yardstick or paint stirring stick for the boom material. And it
didn't have much gain. As Donn said, the element lengths would have been
quite critical. It would not be very survivable at highway speeds unless
you attach the boom to something more durable. I think old hockey sticks
would make excellent boom material for Cheap Yagis on lower bands.
