As usual I started out with equipment problems, but got them resolved on the bottom four bands. After that I was able to work most every QSO I attempted.

I was running with only 25 watts on 432 which proved to be a real challenge. Definately need to get the amp going before Septemeber. Finally got the 1296 transverter back in operation and with the mast mounted preamp and the W6PQL amp running well, 1296 was a fun band for a change. It is so nice to actually be able to hear on 1296! I have put up with a deaf FT-736 there for a number of years and there was no comparison. Everybody was loud on 1296. 902 was also back to hearing very well again also. Amazing what functioning relays up at the mast mounted preamps will do!!

I now am back to very good RX capability on 222 through 1296 and that made a huge difference. The highlight of the contest for me was finally working K0AWU on 1296 for my 19th grid on that band!

On the downside I was still completely deaf on 2304 & 3456. W0ZQ was able to hear my on both bands, so I know I'm getting out, but I don't hear anything on either band. Either the front end is out on both units or I have some pretty serious feeedline loss or something. I hope I am able to get that resolved before September.

Charlie, N0AKC
