OK. W e're going out, but I'm not big on the details right now. My youngest, who works impossible hours (overnights in the ER) while becoming a nurse practicioner announced last week that she can come in from Iowa for a Thursday/Friday visit. Seems one of her HS friends is getting married and is having her bridal shower Saturday about two hours away from the QTH.
We haven't seen her for months, and it's almost impossible for her to get away so we aren't going to run her off so that the rovermobile can be prepared Friday night and early Saturday morning.
I bet that she'll leave for the bridal shower around 11:00 AM, so that's when we'll get going on the vee-hicle. It takes about three hours so we won't be under way until the contest is on.
We will just run 222, 432, 902/3, and 1.2. We'll try to stay out of W9SNR and WB8BZK's way around Chicago. Depending on when we finish-up we might be able to get out to EN42 near Galena, IL or we might drop down to 88W and 41N and run EN50/60/51/61. It's about 1.5 hours to get there, and from there maybe we could head west to EN41/42.
Sorry to be vague, but we're just excited about going out. We'll be using both call signs, so work us on all our bands and you'll get 24 points for your efforts.
More later! 73, Tim K0PG, and Pat K9ILT
