42 QSOs - 622 total points (don't forget that 222 MHz QSOs are
worth
2 QSO Points each)

Breakdown by Grid visited:

Grid Qs Ms Grid Score
EN51 9 7 126
EN52 9 8 144
EN61 14 9 252
EN62 10 5 100

I find 17 different calls in my log (up from 15 different last
year, even though only about two-thirds of the TOTAL QSOs in
last year's 222 MHz Fall Sprint); 4 calls/stations were worked
from all 4 Grids visited and among those 4 were: K8TQK (Bob's
signal and receiving capability are amazing, all paths >500 km),
K2DRH (Bob2's signal and receiving capability are no less
amazing, just that his QTH is closer to where I was, "only"
about 180 km), N9TZL and WO9S.

12 different Grids contacted overall - EM89(x4-K8TQK),
EN41(x4-K2DRH), EN44(x1-K9MU), EN51(x3-WB8BZK/R), EN52(x12-K9IJ,
N9LB, N9UM, N9TZL, WB8BZK/R), EN61(x8-K9GY, W9IIX, WB8BZK/R,
WO9S), EN62(x3-WB8BZK/R), EN63(x1-KC9BQA), EN71(x2-KB8U),
EN81(x1-K9TM), EN82(x1-K8MD), EN91(x2-K8GDT, WA8RJF).

EN53's absence is noted...W9GA was missed. (Are there OTHER
active EN53 stations with 222 MHz?)

I was fortunate to find KC9BQA right at the end, on 223.5 FM of
all places, with my beam horizontally polarized and I'm pretty
sure Todd's was vertically polarized, so EN63 was not missed
(though snagged only once).

I tried a sked with Jon for W0AUS but no signals heard from
EN34.

11 QSOs were with Mike, WB8BZK, who was also out roving; not an
intentional "Grid Dance" but the opportunities presented
themselves to make the additional valid QSOs and NEITHER of us
would have worked EN51 or EN62 as Multipliers had we not BOTH
visited those Grids.

I *did* get TWO Michigan Stations (K8MD x1 and KB8U x2) and
THREE other Ohio stations besides K8TQK (K8GDT, K9TM and WA8RJF)
but nothing from IA, IN or MO despite listening and calling CQs
with the beam pointed in those directions. There was a fair
amount of activity "on" 222.1 but there were times that it was
"quiet" for listening.

And I'm glad to have been out there for Lloyd, N9LB. I only
completed with him from two of my grids so two opportunities
were missed but the two that we DID get are IN the log.

Thanks to ALL who were on and to the Southeastern VHF Society
for their continued sponsorship of the Fall Sprints.

SO...is everyone "ready" to be exchanging SIX-character Grid
Locators for next week's 432 MHz Fall Sprint?

73, JK
