Bringing up Delorme Tropo 4 on the old windoze 98 computer I searched
for high spots south and west of Buck Hill. It shows Buck Hill about
1167, though I'm sure its grown.
First spot. CR70 about a mile west of exit 81 from I-35. N93:18:49
W44:38:37 WGS84 datum. Just SW of there, SW of the intersection of CR70
and CR 8, N93:19:39 W44:38:35 NE of the intersection with France Boulevard.
CR91 1/4 mile N E 275th St E, SW Elko, SE New Market, N Webster.
N93:20:19.7 W44:33:26.7
About 700 feet east of CR96/Halstad Ave and 60th St W, 2-1/2 mile N of
Lonsdale or 2 miles east of Veseli at N93:25:20, W44:31:5.
1/2 mile w of Veseli on CR6, 1-1/2 mile w of SHW 19 near Hatch Lake.
N93:28:28.6 W44:30:54.2 and near there a triangular road intersection,
where Kennesec Ave meets CR 6 (which runs both south and west from that
intersection). N93:29:2.1 W44:31:19.7
1000 feet south on Lake Ave from State HWY 21, 1 mile east of the county
line, or 4 miles east of the intersection of 13 and 21 in Montgomery.
N93:30:12 W44:25:25
These are all above 1150 ASL, nearly as high as Buck Hill on public
roads. I expect someone has explored them all, but maybe not.
I'd like to see if I could work some stations on 10G this year, without
driving to KM0T's back yard.
Let me know detailed Gilbert area plans, I know the area fairly well
having lived there 40 years.
