Hello Bruce.

I take it that you are using a 'flavor' of Linux since you are using GIMP to do 
'some' editing of photos and all. I have no idea if GIMP has been ported to 
Windows at all.

There is also a program much like 'PAINT' in windows for Linux called 
KolourPaint that does the same thing.

There also is a 'Drawing' program in OpenOffice 3.2 that you could use after 
modifying with KolourPaint and turn it into a PDF or JPG file then if you wish.

This is if you are using a Linux OS. I have no experience with OpenOffice under 
Windows at all since I gave up Windows OS almost ten years ago now...:)
