[NLRS] August UHF contest results

Glad to see my NLRS friends do so well in the August UHF and the June contests. I am planning to visit my dad in SD and rove in the UHF contest from up there in 2011. Unfortunately my plans in 2009 and 2010 fell through due to family and work issues. Still, hope springs eternal and I am planning for another try in 2011. Keep your fingers crossed. This time for sure!!

I did enjoy roving up there in the September contest and working several NLRS members. Activity was a bit down though. I was very happy to have a small tropo opening with 59 signals off the back of the beam from 200+ miles away on 432 MHz. With the dry weather, mountainous terrain, and power limitations here in NM we seldom, if ever, get those kind of openings.
