Hello NLRS land

Aurora 2010 will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Our conference site will be the First Lutheran Church, 4000 Linden Street, White Bear Lake, MN 55110. This is near the intersection of Highway 61 with County Road F. Linden Street is a service road for Highway 61. The church is rather large, so it is easy to see from Highway 61.

Bill Davis, K0AWU, has graciously step forward to once again be our Technical Chairman. If you are interested in presenting at Aurora during our afternoon conference, please drop Bill a note at cqbilld at msn.com . Remember that the strength of our club comes from you, its membership, and that this is an outstanding opportunity to share with kindred spirits your knowledge, experiences, and insights in the World Above. If you even THINK that you have an idea for a presentation, drop Bill a note to discuss it. Last years presentations were some of the best yet !

As is customary, Aurora 2010 will start with the antenna range in the morning hours, a break for lunch, then a technical conference in the afternoon. We will also be holding our annual NLRS business meeting midway through the afternoon hours that will include election of club officers. If you are interested in running for one of the three elected positions please drop me a note to discuss. Nominations will be open to all club members during the election process at the business meeting. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to your club - again, as a club, our strength comes from you, its membership, so give consideration to putting your name in the hat.

Regarding our timing this year I know that Aurora is competing with the Dayton hamfest. It was not our intention to do so, and for this I apologize. As Aurora is the only VHF+ gathering in the Upper Midwest, and as its also our clubs business meeting, I hope to see you in White Bear Lake on May 15th.

73, Jon
W0ZQ
