I would love to, especially being unaware of how my system is working. However, the 17th is not good for me. Work the 15th and 17th with no chance for a trade....as I've already looked.

Subject: [NLRS] July 10GHz "tune-up ?"

'Morning, all.

As you know, its been a couple of years since we had a summer 10GHz Tune-up
session. So, should we get together and do one before Rovermania and the 10GHz
Contest ? It would give everyone a chance to "get in the mood," maybe peak up
the antennas, or try out the newly rebuilt 10GHz system. Maybe dig out the
10GHz WBFM gear and give it a workout, too.

In the past we've used the area of Mounds Park in St. Paul just west (down hill)
from the Aero Beacon for the antenna range and then moved up hill (under the
Beacon) for a lite lunch and maybe some operating. Its a short LOS shot over to
the Capital overlook for WBFM or low power SSB. If the brush and trees aren't
too big, its also an LOS shot down the Mississippi River valley to Idel Ave.
near Hastings. On the same headings, but over the horizon are New Trier and
Cannon Falls. These are "chip shots" for 10GHz SSB, but are do-able for WBFM.
I know some folks are working on 24GHz WBFM and some have 24GHz SSB. These are
also good places to try that gear if the humidity isn't too bad. Its 15 miles
(24 km) LOS to Idel Ave, ~25 miles (~40km) non-LOS to New Trier, and ~35 miles
(56km) non-LOS to Cannon Falls.

So. Is there any interest in getting together for 10GHz antenna tune-up, simple
operating, and maybe some 24GHz operating in July ? The date I'm looking at is
17 July, and we'd do it at Mounds Park in St.Paul. 9AM to mid-to late
afternoon. If there is sufficient interest, I'll OK it with the Park Board and
drag out the test equipment.

Let's talk about it and then let me know. If there's interest by next weekend
(4th of July weekend), I'll go ahead with plans; otherwise, we'll skip it this
year.
