Hello NLRS land.
The Minnesota QSO Party is a week from today, Saturday, Feb 6, from 8:00 am
to 6:00 pm CST. The contest includes both HF and VHF categories. Full
rules can be found at http://w0aa.org/mnqp.htm or ask me. As the contest
includes a club competition, make sure to submit a log and to indicate NLRS
as your club - last year we place in 2nd place overall.
W0ZQ/m plans to operate as a HF mobile station activating the following
eight counties in this order: Dodge, Olmsted, Goodhue, Wabasha, Goodhue
(again), Dakota, Rice, Scott, and ending in Le Sueur. In previous years I was
CW only, but this year I plan to also give SSB at try, so I will be
operating mixed mode. I will have 80, 40, 20, and will try 15m midday too - no 75m
fone as the system does not tune there. Here is a rough timeline by
location and bands
Dodge: 8:00am to 9:15am starting on 80m CW, then 40m CW then fone, last
is 20m CW.
Olmsted: 9:15am to 10:30am starting on 80m CW, then 40m CW then fone,
last is 20m CW
Goodhue: 10:30am to 11:30am starting on 80m CW, then 40m CW, then 40m
fone while driving.
Wabasha: 11:30am to 12:45pm starting on 80m CW, then 40m CW then fone,
then 20m CW then fone.
Goodhue: Again. 12:45pm to 1:45pm, 20m fone while driving.
Dakota: 1:45pm to 3:00pm starting on 20m CW then fone, then 40m CW, then
80m CW, then 40m while driving.
Rice: 3:00pm to 4:15pm starting on 40m fone while driving, then 20m CW,
then 40m CW then 80m CW.
Scott: 4:15pm to 5:15pm starting on 40m fone then CW, then 80m CW.
LeSueur: 5:15pm to 6:00pm staring on 40m CW, then 80m CW.
Hope to work some of you next weekend. Get on, make some Q's, make
Minnesota proud, and send in a log.
73, Jon
W0ZQ/m
