What a good opening we had this past weekend! Worked
many S7, S9 MI/OH/VE/NY contacts. Lots of fun.

By now, most of you know the net drill. If you want more
info, it's here: http://kc9bqa.com/?p=1780 This explains the
frequencies, times, directions to look.

     That real-time 144/432 MHz chat at www.on4kst.com
really comes in handy if you want a better mental picture of
what all is going on. I hear WB9LYH 98% of the time, and
I type real-time updates in the chat about who Mark is hearing
and where he's pointing. Go to my website link above for the
7 simple steps to get signed up to chat.
The chat is also very useful for coordinating your own
contacts with other stations in various directions. Everyone
wants more activity on the bands. So while we want your
net check-ins, also feel free to find your own activity. We
encourage non-net activity on 144.230 (and lower if it gets
busy). Main thing is to look around and do your own CQ'ing.
20-30 guys all pointing one direction is OK, but 20-30 guys
swinging yagis around and calling CQ is the recipe for a truly
healthy 2 meter band.

Also looking forward to the ARRL Jan VHF Sweepstakes
this weekend. I will be on 50, 144, 222, 432 and 902/3
from EN63ao, with good antennas and height.

     73,
     Todd KC9BQA EN63ao 40 N of Milwaukee
