Thanks to Gary, WB0LJC, for spotting that the 2011 San Bernardino Microwave Society 2 GHz and Up Club Contest rules have recently been posted at http://www.ham-radio.com/sbms/2011_2ghz-up_test.pdf . This contest is club scoring only, distance based (1 point per km), and for frequencies of 2304 and up. The contest date is Saturday, April 30 through Sunday, May 1. Mark your calendars now.

For the last several years the NLRS has been very active in this contest. If you have an interest in playing on the uW, this is a fantastic opportunity to do so as its a very laid back affair where we often have a fixed group and a rover group out and about with bands from 2304 and up. Our single purpose is to make some Q's and to have some fun. Of course 10 GHz is the most popular of these bands, perhaps followed by 2304, but we manage to generate some activity on 3456 and 5750 as well, and on more rare occasions, 24 GHz.

Mark April 30 & May 1 on your calendar and give some thoughts towards playing on the uW's as they are a hoot.

73, Jon
W0ZQ
