Hello NLRS:
I posted on the national VHF reflector and the CSVHFS reflector
about Midwest Mania!! returning for this year for the Sept VHF
Contest. Briefly, it's a focussed effort towards promotion and
activity in IA, MO, OK, KS, NE, and SD--The Great Plains. As I
found last year, there are more fixed stations there than I
expected. And add a few rovers and activity was quite lively.
For NLRS fixed stations, I hope you point out into the Great
Plains and work more stations than normal. For NLRS rovers, I
hope I can entice you to shift your rove to the south just a
bit--perhaps in Iowa or the eastern NE/SD area. You'll still be
able to work back into the Twin Cities.
Last year, I roved on the 98th Meridian from EM08/18 northward to
EN02/12. I'm toying with the idea of roving on the 94th Meridian
this year from EM28/38 northward to EN21/31. I will GLADLY share
all the spots I found on the 98th Meridian if someone is
interested in going out that way. (It was beautiful and easy.)

Fixed or rover, send along your operating plans and I'll post them
on that site during my next update. Above all, get on the air for
the Sept VHF Contest.
