[NLRS] Need advice: Amplification on 432 and 1296

Hello all,

I'm looking to get some amplification on 432 and 1296 MHz.

I guess 432 is relatively easy.  Looking for something in the 100 watt
range, driven by the 10 watts from my FT-897.  Don't know if a
built-in pre-amp is desireable--it seems to be mixed reviews on
whether the pre-amps are worth anything, depending on the model, I
suppose.  If anybody has a good 432 amp they're going to get rid of,
let me know.

On 1296, I'm going to have about 2 watts of drive available.  I would
really value some advice here, since I'm much less familiar with what
are good options.  Looking to have between 50-100 watts out.

* W6PQL has a kit for a 75 watt amp using a XRF-286 for about $165 at
www.w6pql.com

* I know where I can get a couple of G4BAO boards, good for about 50
watts apiece.  The big problem with these, it seems, is that they
require 28 VDC with pretty hefty current.  I could probably do that in
the shack, but I also want to be able to take this roving.  Still, the
price per watt would be pretty good.  Maybe 28 volts on the rover rig
isn't insurmountable (it's just two batteries, after all.)
* Other options?  Anybody have some good advice.  Anything to sell?
