Hi again;
#1 Last reminder from me, be sure and join us at the Radisson tomorrow night, bring goodies, $10, beverages and snacks, and join in the gaiety!! Details re-posted below, scroll down the page to read the details.
#2, don't forget the 144 sprint this coming Monday, the 12th, 7 pm to 11 pm.
#3 I also have posted a blurb about KP4 on 432 EME this next weekend, anyone with a 432 station running maybe 50 watts and a single yagi should be able to work them, although you will need to use a yagi that can be elevated up about 50 degrees to see the moon during the 'passes'. The group doing this will be using the large dish at Arecibo PR, over 1000 ft diameter!

In less than two weeks the Arecibo Observatory Amateur Radio Club will again put the 1000-foot radio telescope on the air for 432 MHz EME. The scheduled times of operation are:
April 16: 1645 - 1930 UTC
April 17: 1740 - 2020 UTC
April 18: 1840 - 2125 UTC
Callsign: KP4AO
Tx Frequency: 432.045 MHz
Rx Frequency: 432.050 to 432.060+
Tx power: 400 W
Antenna gain: 60 dBi
System noise temp: 120 K (cold sky)
System noise temp: 330 K (when pointed at moon)
KP4AO can be heard with a small hand-held yagi pointed at the moon, and a good receiver. A 15 dBi antenna and 100 W will be enough to work us on CW.
Operators at KP4AO will do their best to work as many stations as possible. Each session will start with a brief announcement and CQ in SSB. SSB QSOs may continue for 30 minutes to an hour, if the QSO rate remains high. The mode will be shifted to CW as soon as it is judged that higher QSO rates would result.

Just wanted to remind everybody of our group gathering held in conjunction with AES Superfest;
Be sure to pencil in the evening of Friday, April 9, 2010, for the annual Badger Contester VHF group pizza party. This gathering has been running for at least the last 15 years, and in the same place. I have reserved the pool suite #124 at the Radisson Milwaukee North Shore at 7065 North Port Washington road. This fun event is a chance to get together with many of the voices that you hear on the VHF bands, on the nets, and during the contests. The Radisson is still in the same spot, just east of I43 in Glendale, north/east side of Milwaukee, and just south of Good Hope road. Thanks to Ray K9KHW, who gets us a reduced room rate for the venue.
We kick off the gathering around 7 PM, and pass the hat ($10 suggested) for donations to buy pizza and help pay for the room. Bring some goodies or beverages to share, and also your show and tell items, rigs, QSL's ect, ect.
Let me know if you are thinking of attending, I don't have a head count yet, but several have mentioned coming, including several from out of town (K9JK, WB8BZK, W9FZ and maybe some of the LaCrosse gang) who are coming in to share in the fun and games. Bring some drinks to share, and any snack that you have for the gang. We also encourage you to bring your latest VHF related project, 10 gig dish, neat QSLs, ect.
Again; The Radisson on Port Washington Road, just south of Good Hope Road, Friday the 9rd, at 7 PM, pool suite 124, see you there, and pse RSVP. I also plan on being at Amateur Electronics Superfest earlier in the day for a few hours, and again on Saturday, along with KC9BQA.
