Unfortunately we didn't get into the tropo that the guys to the south and east of us enjoyed. The best I was able to do was a 2M contact with K9EA in EN71. One of the highlights of the contest was working K0AWU on 902 for the first time. I got my Motorola amp on the air for the first time on 900 MHz and I had lots of good signal reports with it.

Unfortunately I was still plauged with equipment problems. I had two sequencers decide to blow swithing transistors and not key TR relays. After finding those I was able to work round them, but I still do not hear well on 432. Guess it's time to start replacing feedlines - they are they only thing left that hasn't been swapped out. My 2304 amp decided to die right before the contest so I still have not managed to get that band on the air yet. I finally got the 3456 amp to play only to have the front end GaSFET in the RX section decide to go south, so I still have no contacts to show for that band either. Hopefully one of these years I'll get everything to work properly - I guess I can dream anyway.

I still had fun and look forward to making more QSOs on 900 MHz. I have always been able to hear well on that band and now I have some punch to match it on TX. I already mentioned the K0AWU QSO and I also managed to work KC9BQA on 900 MHz SSB so it is playing nicely.

Charlie, N0AKC
