Hey, this is starting to look like the good ol' days. Band conditions were generally enhanced to the East and South, though not wide open, like a couple weeks ago. Generally, the best conditions were from 432 to 2304, with some occasional strong, spot openings in the microwave bands. There was no enhancement that I could see on 6M, maybe even below normal conditions there. Best times were Sat. night and Sun. morning, although there were still good conditions into MI and OH on Sun. night.

With the good conditions and decent activity, I wound up spending more time than usual in each grid; 5 hours each in EN51 & EN52, 4 hours in EN62, and roughly 3 hours each in EN53 & EN63. While I have done "run 'n gun" 8-10 grid roves with this setup, and sometimes scored very well that way under more "normal" conditions, I suspect that doing fewer grids actually paid off this time, since the extra 2+ hours drive time would have cost a bunch of QSOs. One other thing that helped was that all locations were on high ground, with clear shots to the horizon in the directions where most of the activity was located. The two best locations, 100+ ft high landfills with nearly 360 degrees clear horizon, weren't open to the public (as far as I knew) back in the '90s, so activating many grids was the best strategy back then.

Anyway, this is what I got back from the logging program after pounding in all the QSO's from my paper log. The final score turned out to be quite a surprise. I knew the QSO count would be high from the paper logs, but was expecting something in the 60-70K range, not over 90K! Best DX, according to http://www.chris.org/cgi-bin/showdis was 589 mi, to KA2LIM (EN52sa to FN12mg)
