Thanks Jon,

I broke down and bought a couple from Advanced Antennas to try, one for 3.4
and the other for 5.8. They were only $50 each shipped. The only problems
I see with these antennas is that they use the same grid reflector for 2.4,
3.4 and 5.8GHZ, so the grid spacing is probably not optimal for 5.8 at a
minimum and some extra screening may be helpful. The other issue is there
is no power rating published for these feeds, so I expect I won't be able
to run 40+ watts into them without melting the pcb feeds, but they should
hold up fine with the 1w transverters.

Advanced Antennas never appears to answer the phone, but does answer emails
and respond to voice mail. Will see when the antennas arrive next
week. Could be a cheap source of gain antennas for these bands (albeit a
bit bulky).
