Hi All -
This was our first attempt at using Bob's call and we worked hard to run up
a good score. We had some equipment issues and some noise on Buck Hill
that hampered some bands. We also seemed to have a wall of propagation
after 250 miles.
We worked only 30 grids on 2M, which is the worst I can remember ever from
a June Contest. We worked from EN18 to EN03/04 south to EN10 and EN50 and
east to EN65/64/63. Thanks to Bruce for finding us in the last hours of
the contest for EN64 & 65 and to KC9BQA for EN63 in the last hour.
We had some issues with the high bands but I thought some of the bands
played well. 23 QSO's and 10 grids on 10 GHz was amazing, in my book! That
is more Q's on 10 GHz than we've ever made in all the Junes combined! We
had the best-ever QSO counts on 222 & 432 and our best totals on 2.3 GHz +.
We learned a lot about what worked, what did not, how to pass stations
quickly. We also learned about antenna placement and QRM issues.
A special thanks to Dave, N0KP, for use of his large generator. It was
incredible to have a constant stream of power for the whole contest! Also,
THANKS to all the rovers who were out. We sure looked hard to find you and
to get as many Q's as possible. Thanks for going out!!
See you in August!
