W0SD and W7XU will be active from DN75 (Montana) and DN85 (ND)
this Friday, 5 June.
We will begin in DN75 at 1000 UTC, SSB, on 50.137 MHz. We will
use meteor scatter procedures, calling during the 1st and 3rd periods
of every minute (regardless of direction pointed).
At 1100 UTC we will change to FSK441 on 50.252 MHz, calling
during the first half of each minute. We will run for approximately
one hour (depending on level of activity heard) on FSK441, then
return to SSB on 50.137.
We will remain in DN75 until approximately 1800 UTC, then move to
DN85. We should be active from DN85 by 2000 UTC and will remain
there until 0100 UTC (UTC Saturday). Operation will be on SSB,
50.135, as noted above.
We will also be active for a brief period Thursday evening while passing
through DN74 (WY). I don't know a definite time, but it will likely be
around 2230 UTC. Sorry I can't be more definite, but I'm not sure when
we will get there. 50.135 again.
Unfortunately, due to some last minute equipment problems and time
constraints, we won't have 2m with us. The reason we are concentrating
on SSB (vs FSK441) is that we had very few requests for digital QSO's.
I'm sorry we don't have more time to spend in the area, or cover other
grids in the area, but this is basically something we are trying to fit in
while on a trip for other reasons.
We will have a large yagi and about 800 watts.
73, Arliss W7XU
