We're going out for the event as a family rover for the first time in two years. We have 222-2304. There are beams for each band, fixed in the direction the car is facing. We have 225 watts on 222, 180 watts on 432, 10 watts each for 900 and 1.2 and 1 rompin' stompin' watt for 2304.
We will be running on 222.120 and 432.120 with foray
s to .100 from time to time.
We will not be able to start until Kristin's (our neice) bridal shower is over. We're estimating 3:00 PM CDT Saturday. From 1:00 PM until then I will be chillin' out at Montrose Harbor. I'll be sticking out about 1km into Lake Michigan with the wall of noise behind me. I should be able to operate solo into MI and IN from there and maybe up towards Milwaukee. I probably won't be able to turn much, being at the beach in high season. Grid EN61hn.
We hope that Pat can leave the event gracefully around 3:00. We'll get on I94 and head out through EN62 to EN52. We'll operate from EN52ua, west of Elgin, IL. We could be there by 4:30. Figure an hour there, and then out to EN42we, a roadside observation tower near Galena, IL. We should get there around 7:00 PM.
>From here it gets foggy. We'll have to see what we're up for. We could drop down to E41xx near the four corners of EN42/41/52/51. We could also go to Decorah, IA EN43ge to be ready for Sunday morning, and then beat it on home to EN61.
Look for us as we run and gun. 73, Tim K0PG and Pat K9ILT The Rovaires Extraordinaires
