Hi Ray -

I'm sure others will have ideas for specific places to operate. You may
even be able to follow someone out to one of the grid corners.

For a first-time rove, I would suggest staying close to the Twin Cities.
Get used to roving and to the callsigns, etc. Maybe a trip to the
EN24/34/25/35 corner would be good. Or a stop to that corner and a stop to the
EN23/24/33/34 corner. Good sites at all locations.

Next weekend is 222 & above so you'll only be able to use 432. A small
yagi and low power should be able to work quite well out to a few hundred
miles.

Talk to others, get some ideas and then post your plans. We'll all be
watching for you!

Hi All

I am hoping to operate next weekend as a first time rover-
I have found many good tips on the web for equipment
and setup for roving but would appreciate any recommendations
on decent locations around Minnesota/Wisconsin--I can
devote approximately 10 hours and up to a 250 mile route
for this effort-

Equipment is quite modest--An Icom 706IIG and halos or
short yagis for 6/2/70cm on a 20 foot push-up mast.

All tips / location recommendations are greatly appreciated..

ps--My apologies for the "3 area " callsign-It is left over from
when I worked for BT&D-DuPont in Wilmington,Delaware--
I am retired now and hope to get my original High School
callsign, WB0EBG, back in the coming months as I get
back into Ham Radio operating --rjj
