Looks like the aurora oval peaked in our direction a few hours later, about 
0900UTC or about 4 AM CDT:

Five hours earlier (around the time Jim noticed it), the aurora activity 
was not quite as intense in our direction, but still quite a bit higher 
than it has been recently:
