The  Central States VHF Society Conference - 2009
starts tomorrow at the Elk  Grove Village Holiday Inn,
Elk Grove Village,? Illinois.

The  gathering begins with a Pig Roast and Hospital
Suites on Thursday night.  Friday morning will begin 
the two full days of technical activities  including
the measurements contests on Antenna Range and 
with the  Amplifier Gain and Noise figures. This
is? followed by the? Friday Luncheon  where
Speaker Marshal Williams, K5QE, will present on the
"K5N - The  6-meter Grid Expedition to EL55 " 

Technical Presentations begin  shortly after the
noon hour on Friday. Presenters for this year's

special Presentation for the entire Family;

??? The Saturday  Evening Banquet concludes the offical Conference
activities. ARRL President  and Central States Society member
Mr Joel Harrison, W5ZN, is the Keynote  speaker for this event.

??? The Central States VHF Conference is an  excellent 
opportunity for Hams not yet involved in VHF/UHF 
Weak Signal  activity to explore the possibilities that 
this exciting portion of the  Amateur Radio hobby offers.? 
Saturday there is an introductory Weak-Signal  all 
day presentation called VHF-101 where the techniques 
of operating  and building an VHF/UHF station will be 
explained, along with an antenna  workshop where
participants will construct working UHF yagi  antennas.
This all-day presentation and afternoon workshop are  
available for $10 admission.

??? Conference registration is  available at the Door for
$50 plus $5 and some last-minute seating is  available 
for the Thursday Evening Pig Roast, Friday Luncheon 
and the  Saturday Awards Banquet.
