It was nice to hear a few people on 6&2 from the "Upper Mid-West". Activity was pretty limited from my vantage point and 6 meter Es was spotty here except for a brief period from about 15:04-16:13z Sunday. The spotty openings were interesting allowing a Q here and there from VE1, XE2, W7 land plus the usual TX, OK etc. Very interesting to hear isolated signals from a single station pour in here 10's of mins and no one else to be heard.

5:45am Saturday found Pat and I at the MSP airport waiting on our son and his family to arrive from CA. We arrived back home after the "pickup" about 11am. Our grandson and I got in a couple of quick boat rides and then I tried to work in both family time and a bit of "contesting" for the contest period starting "on time". It was fun as always to hear any activity, but the contest was
pretty casual and very "part time" from here.

2 meters suffered from poor activity again. I heard some nice signals from time to time. I really think conditions were fairly good, just not too many were on or "working very hard". 2 meters with more than one station seemed to have better prop than 6m.

For those that got on, THANK YOU, as they say ... "You gotta make calls to get results"!

End result, 3rd poorest CQ contest in the last 10 yrs::

    6m -- 61 QSOs 36 Grids
    2m -- 17 QSOs 10 Grids

Total Points : 4,370
