As of yesterday, The SoftRock V6.3RxTx tranceivers are sold out. At this moment there are NO transceivers
available. I suspect we will soon see an announcement of a replacement transceiver, but my guess it will be
all band switching 1watt SDR. Again that is MY guess. Tony has been very quiet lately and that usually means a
new kit is in the works... time will tell.
Still available: V9 SDR reciever and misc xtal controlled SDR receivers
The latest on the SoftRock V9 receiver. Software controlled BPFilters are now being sold and delivered. The
filter may be built as a 80-6m or a 160-10m filter. The new filters are superior to the original plugin BPFilters.
The 6m sensitivity is not the greatest, but if you have a 6m preamp ahead of the V9 it plays very well.
I built the switchable filter last Wed and I am very happy with its performance. I was watching the 10m beacons
yesterday afternoon and early evening as 6m was open into NE for a while. I think I will build plug-in a 6m BPF to
just give me that option. (ether that or use an external 6m converter). It will be interesting to start looking for
Digital TV pilot carriers after the transition to digital. Believe it or not, there will remain some low band VHF stations
(digital) after the transition. The "on-board" 2 meter converter is still available for the V9 and it plugs into the V9
in place of the switchable BPF.
I am now using the latest version on PowerSDR with my V9 , it with a custom dll offers transparent BPF switching.
