[NLRS] 144.240 SSB net report -- 9 check-ins

We'll remember this net for being the cold one. I was
"only" at 0 at net time, but I did get to -14 this morning,
40 miles north of Milwaukee. It's still -9, though, at 11am.
Not going to see zero today or probably tomorrow. I know
it's worse for those in EN44.

Honestly, given the cold last night, propagation wasn't
that bad. There was deep QSB at times, but then some nice
peaks, too. Worked EN34, 35 and 37, -- how 'bout that?
Also would have heard N0IRS - JD , EM29 in KC, Mo. if
not for S7 noise to my SW 90% of the time.

We used the following link to help coordinate and I'm
glad we did. Thanks to all who used Vhf QSO page.
Sorry for those I missed due to my QRN.

Also please remember that even if you can't work me,
everyone is stirring up good activity on the bands. I surely
hope some folks enjoy that activity and work others.
Whether you need to QSY down off of 144.240, or you
want to wait until I'm done at about 8:20-8:30pm. You can
also use that Vhf QSO page up above to let others know
where you're looking. That page is for anyone.

    Check-ins were:
  W9RPM -- John EN43 La Crosse S0-S5
  K0BAD -- Les EN44 Winona, MN S0-S3
  K2DRH -- Bob EN41 Albany, IL S5-S9
  N0IRS -- JD EM29, K.C. Mo. -- Relay from K2DRH
  WB0OFB -- Jerry EN34 Hinckley, MN S0-S3
  WB9LYH -- Mark EN54 Rudolph, WI S9
  K0AWU -- Bill EN37 Gr. Rapids, MN S0-S1
  K0SIX -- Vince EN35 Big Bear Lk, MN S0-S1
  W0JLF -- Jim EN35 North Branch, MN S0-S1

All the MN stations were Q5 copy at least 80% of
the time, no problem.

I could have sworn I copied WB0OFB as being in
EN36, but QRZ says otherwise. At any rate, it was
good to hear Jerry check in for the first time. It'd be
funny if Jerry had gone up north for the weekend, to
go from -23 to -30 or so, wouldn't it? :) :)

Anyway, we've got a contest this weekend. Be aware
of W9FZ Bruce roving as KB9C/R. Bruce will be around
the EN45/55/54/44 grid intersection all day on Saturday.
He will drive south and do the EN43/53/42/52 deal on
Sunday. Bruce likes to hang on 144.240 and 50.160.
Please give Bruce a long look and work him as much as
you can. He does great roves and needs us to keep him
busy, especially in January!

For myself, I will look and call CQ in all directions at
various times. I may try to concentrate extra hard to the
SSW thru NW about 7-9pm on Sat. evening. My noise
on 2 meters is worst when I look at Iowa. Don't know how
it sounds on 6; I've got to hook that up. Guess what I'm
saying is that I'll find some way to look SW and hear
you guys in the contest. Might even have to call CQ on
144 and ask whoever's hearing me to call me back on
222 or 432. Be creative...

    73,
    Todd KC9BQA EN63ao 40 N of Milwaukee
    50 thru 2304
