Hello NLRS land.
The August UHF Contest score database is now available on the Members Only
website at http://www.arrl.org/contests/results/ . If you go to the
bottom of the scores page you can click on the "List per-band counts" to
see the break down for each station by band for Q's & mults .... it also
shows the number of grids that rovers activated. I did a quick analysis
and came up with the following by band summary - the first number that is
listed (percentage) is the number of logs reporting to have been active on
that band.
222: 80%. Most QSOs WW8M (89), KI9R (78), and WB8BZK/R (70). Most grids
WW8M (42), K2DRH (41), KC9BQA (31).
432: 99%. Most QSO's K2DRH (104), KI9R (104), and K1TEO (99). Most grids
K2DRH (47), WW8M (39), KC9BQA (34).
902: 46%. Most QSO's W0ZQ/R (44), K2DRH (41), W6YLZ/R(40). Most grids
K2DRH (31), WW8M (23), KM0T (20).
1296: 71%. Most QSO's W9FZ/R (60), K2DRH (58), W0ZQ/R (57). Most grids
K2DRH (36), KM0T (26), WW8M (23).
2304: 38%. Most QSO's W6YLZ/R (64), N6NB/R (64), KG6TOA/R (61). Most
grids K2DRH (23), KG6TOA/R (21), KM0T (18).
3456: 25%. Most QSO's W6YLZ/R (64), N6NB/R (64), KG6TOA/R (61). Most
grids K2DRH (16), KM0T (15), W6YLZ/R (11).
5760: 13% Most QSOs W6YLZ/R (64), N6NB/R (64), KG6TOA/R (59). Most
grids KM0T (16), W6YLZ/R (11), N6NB/R (11).
10 G: 26% Most QSO's W6YLZ/R (64), N6NB/R (64), KG6TOA/R (58). Most
grids KM0T (17), W6YLZ/R (11), N6NB/R (11).
24G: 4%. Most QSO's KM0T (4), KR0VER/R (2), AF1T (1). Most grids KM0T
(4), KR0VER/R (1), AF1T (1).
Light: 4% Most QSO's WA2NXK/R (2), N2CSP (2), AF1T (1). Most grids
WA2NXK/R (2), N2CSP (1), AF1T (1).
There were no claimed contacts on the bands between 10 GHz and Light. In
terms of guys who are active on the bands, the ranking for the most active
bands would be 432 (99%), 222 (80%), 1296 (71%), 902 (46%), 2304 (38%),
10GHz (26%), 3456 (25%), 5760 (13%), then 24 GHz and Light (both 4%). The
pack rovers from W6-land are evident in the 2304, 3456, 5760, and 10GHz
data. A big winner of Rovermania V was K2DRH - to his credit he went
chasing rovers in all directions from his QTH resulting in top three
finished in grids worked on 222, 432, 902, 1296, 2304, and 3456 ..... I
know I helped him along the way as did W9FZ/R and others ! I was surprised
to see that I had the most number of 902 Q's (44) .... with 20 watts and a
6' loop yagi. W9FZ/R had the highest number of 1296 Q's (60) while I was
third (57). Also a nice showing by WB8BZK/R on 222 with 70 Q's - perhaps
some of those due to increasing FM activity in the Chicago area - nice job
indeed. KC9BQA was also able to take advantage of the tropo to make some
nice grid totals on 222 & 432. On the five bands between 2304 and 24 GHz
KM0T was able to snag a total of 70 grids.
Its not too early to start thinking about Rovermania VI ...... add a band,
more power, better feedline. NLRS will indeed be (very) active for this
fun event.
