Hello NLRS land.

Aurora 2009 will be held Saturday, May 30, at the First Lutheran Church in
White Bear Lake. This is the same spot that we have held Aurora for the last
few years but it is a month later then usual.

Regarding Aurora, its time to start thinking about two items.

First is the technical program that typically runs from 1:00 to 4:30 PM. We
like to have three to five presentations, and this is where YOU come in. If
you have any ideas about what may make a good presentation, or if you would
like to make a presentation yourself, please drop me a note with your
thoughts and/or suggestions. No idea is unworthy of consideration, and remember,
this is OUR club, you and me, and its through sharing of our knowledge and
experiences that we all get wiser. So step up & make a suggestion, or maybe
think about making a presentation yourself.

Second, we are now seeking input for the Wesslund Award. Nominations should
be in text form and submitted to one of the club officers - N0UK, KC0IYT, or
myself. The Wesslund Award states "The Wesslund Award honors Robert (Bob)
Wesslund, W0AUS, for his many years of significant contributions to the
Northern Lights Radio Society and for his continuous work with mentoring others in
the World above 50 MHz. This award is presented annually to recognize those
NLRS members who have assisted others in gaining knowledge and access to the
bands above 50 MHz."

Aurora 2009 will feature both a VHF/UHF and a uW antenna range, technical
presentations in the afternoon, a poster session, our normal NLRS business
meeting, and a high amount of socializing. Please give consideration to
presenting, or, perhaps suggest a topic for someone else to present. Last, give
some thought to making a nomination for the Wesslund Award. Make sure to mark
down May 30 in your calendar.

73, Jon
W0ZQ
