Hi All;

I have a Yaesu G550 elevation rotor (Kenpro KR-500), and I am curious what anyone has experienced as to the long term ability of this rotor to carry and elevate a small EME array.

I can calculate from the data provided with the rotor, that it should handle a fiberglass x-boom, and 2 medium 144 yagis. My question is, how big (yagi length) can you go while not exceeding the rotors ability to manage these antennas over time.

I am considering a pair of M2 12 elements, which are about 20 foot booms, and would separate horizontally on a 12 foot X-boom. Can this rotor handle a pair of larger 144 yagis, or is even the pair of 20 footers too much? I see that some have run a pair of 14 foot (M2 2M9) boom antennas, which seem to be the smallest antenna that would give a fair accounting of themselves on 144 EME. (with QRO and JT65B)
