Too bad we couldn't make it, Jerry. I was kind of surprised when we didn't.
I worked KB0PE for the first time on 10 GHz on Saturday morning. He was
extremely loud at my QTH. We had been trying for months outside of contests
to work on 10 GHz whenever the Hepburn forecast looked promising, with no
success. I don't know what happened to Dave after I worked him. Several
others wanted to try for him but he seemed to disappear.
W9ZIH said I was so loud on 10 GHz that he could hear me no matter where he
had his antenna pointed. And I had mine pointed about 20 degrees east of him
at the time. When we got our dishes lined up I think we were almost
overloading each others' front ends and we chatted on SSB on 10G for quite a
while.
So I was surprised I couldn't hear a peep out of you or K2YAZ. Maybe the
opening was very selective.
