Confirming what Jon noted...Outside of the Atlantic and New
England Divisions (though Marshall and the operating crew at
K5QE deserve some notice for at least topping 100k), this is
an **EXCEPTIONAL** score for "elsewhere".
Well deserved 'kudos' to the team!
And to have worked 27 different Rovers....WOW!
Below are the Multi-Op Top Scores by the 15 ARRL Divisions plus
Canada for the UHF Contest (part of what the Contest Branch
provided to me to assist in preparing the results article for
QST and I've been updating it since 2005). These are spaced to
line up in columns if viewed in a "monospace" font. ("View >
Text Size > Fixed" does that for me in Outlook Express 6, your
mileage in 'less antiquated' e-mail client programs may vary.)
ATLANTIC K2DH 649,740 1998
CENTRAL KI9R 85,860 2008
DAKOTA N0HJZ 86,136 2005
DELTA AG4V 29,394 2008
GREAT LAKES NM8X 28,380 1989
HUDSON N2CEI 64,050 1990
MIDWEST NJ0X 8,844 1986
NEW ENGLAND W2SZ 906,153 2002
NORTHWESTERN NU7Z 41,382 2000
PACIFIC W6TE 6,930 2003
ROANOKE W3CCX/8 65,664 1985
ROCKY MOUNTAIN W2CRS/5 5,481 1993
SOUTHEASTERN W4EUH 1,785 2001
SOUTHWESTERN K6TZ 24,921 1989
WEST GULF K5QE 161,784 2007
CANADA VE3LNX 50,424 1987
"We" can only imagine what might have resulted had the condtions
as occurred in 2008 had happened this year.
And...to Rich or any of the other ops...I'd WELCOME a "sidebar"
article on the W0AUS effort (hopefully with some good pictures!)
for the Web Report as the KI9R Multi-op team provided last year,
check their report out at
http://www.arrl.org/members-only/contests/results/2008/aug-uhf/sidebar3.html
(sorry, you must be an ARRL member and 'registered' on the
arrl.org web site to view this).
