Hi All -

Below is our score for the UHF Contest. I am still fighting with the
contest robot to get it submitted correctly.

What a blast on Buck Hill last weekend! Conditions sure were flat but the
rovers and fixed stations sure made things fun!

All in all, we worked 27 rovers. They were: K0HAC, K0MHC, K0PC, K0PG,
K9ILT, K9JK, KB0NES, KC0IYT, KC0OIA, KC0P, KC0PMW, KD0ABR, KE3QY, N0DQS, N0EDV,
 N0HZO, N0QJM, N0UK, W0IS, W0JT, W0ZQ, W7XU, W9FZ, WA0VPJ, WA2VOI, WB0LJC &
 WB8BZK. Great efforts by all!

The rovers gave us 343 QSO's out of 465 total QSO's or 73.76% of our Q's.
Unbelievable!

The team on the hill did a great job and we learned a lot. The first hour
was the toughest as we had many rovers to work and some fixed stations
wanted to run the bands too. We asked the fixed stations to work us later so
we could get the rovers.

There were times when we would be asking Dave, N0KP, to look for two
rovers on the microwave bands and the rovers were almost 180- degrees apart.
Sorry Dave! For the most part, the rovers came "on-line" in future grids
with a regular pattern. We'd finish with one rover and the next rover would
be in place.

I had a friendly competition with Ron, KA0RYT, for multipliers. Ron was
on 432 and I was on 222. We'd go back-and-forth as to who had the most
mults. I ended up working K2YAZ to grab the lead and 222 ended up one grid
ahead. The antenna was pointed at the right place at the right time! Ron and
I also had a competition to see who could have more layers of clothing on
during the night. It was freezing up there!

Thanks again to everyone who went out roving, to everyone who got on the
air, to the team on the hill and to everyone who helped plan this event.
There were a lot of email messages, planning meetings and trips to the hill to
make sure things worked good. It was a total Upper Midwest team effort to
 achieve this score.

Our score is about five times the previous best multi-op score from
Minnesota. I know I set my sights on a million points, but conditions kept us
from our goal. Maybe next year! I believe our score represents the 8th
highest score ever for multi-ops in the country! Not bad!

I'll get some pictures to the NLRS website so everyone can see our large
station!

73 & Thanks to all for getting on the air and making this event so fun!
