Hello,
We had 2 decent nets last night on SSB, and tonight, with
perfect weather, we're going to have the 146.43 FM net at
8:30pm, as usual. Local scanner enthusiasts are reporting
good propagation already, so it may end up be a very good
night for this FM net. Don't be left out.
This is vertical polarization, and at 8:30, I take check-ins
with an omni, up at 60'. After we give all the initial check-ins
a chance to say hello to the net, I then switch over to a 10-el
beam, up 60', that is fixed toward my south. The switchover
could occur anywhere from about 8:50-9:15pm So you get
2 nets for the price of one.
Check in to either or both, and stay for as long or as little
as you like. The only purpose for these nets is to increase
activity on the bands. Also, if the band is wide open tonight,
don't feel as though you have to be tied into the net. Move
around and work other people in different areas.
Now if you care to read the net reports from last night
on SSB, here they are.
On 144.240 at 8-8:30pm, looking only west thru north
of EN63, I had 4 check-ins. W9FZ in EN43 helped scare
up 2 of them. Thanks Bruce.
They were:
W9FZ - Bruce - EN43, near Hillsboro, WI S7-S3
K0MHC - Jim - EN26, Alexandria, MN S1 to nil
K0KFC - Jim - EN35, St. Croix Falls, WI S1
WA9FWT - Phil - EN63, Sheboygan S7
On 144.250 at 8:30pm, I looked south at first, and
started the Badger Contesters net. We had 8 check-ins.
WO9S - Jon - EN61, Chicago S7-S3
K9IJ - John - EN52, Lake Zurich, IL S7-S0
N9WU - Rick - EN53, Germantown, WI S1
N9NDP - Harvey - EN62, Kenosha, WI 10 over S9
W9IPR - Tom - EN53, Cedarburg, WI 15 over S9
N0IRS - J.D. - EM29, Ks. City, MO S1 w QSB
W9FZ - Bruce - EN43, near Hillsboro, WI S5-S1
At the very end of the net, I heard a very light caller and
was quite surprised to hear
K4QH - Phil - EM66, Greenbriar, TN S0 w QSB
It sure seemed like conditions were only average last night
yet we had 2 legitimate DX check-ins. What a treat!
