Beautiful weather tonight, so looking forward to the nets.
I'd think prop will be greatly improved from this weekend.
Wednesday night is SSB night, horizontal polarization.
At 8:00pm, I call CQ only to my west thru north on 144.240,
toward W and N WI, as well as adjacent portions of IA, MN
and the U.P. of MI. The purpose is to stir up activity.
At 8:30pm, I QSY to 144.250 and call the Badger
Contesters net. Start out looking south, take quick check-ins,
then swing beams a full 360, going SW, W, NW, etc. Look
for check-ins in all directions. Usually get back to south
about 8:45-8:50 and then we run the list, giving everyone a
chance to say hello to the net.
Tonight we could talk about the rain-soaked contest last
weekend, or we can look forward to better days with the
SEVHFS fall sprints coming up.
The first sprint is for 2 meters, on Monday, Sept. 22nd,
from 7-11pm. These get good participation in the Upper
Midwest. I know I will be on. Also trying to encourage more
FM activity, and build on the momentum from last weekend.
Will you help? Consider going on a local rove. Ask your
friends to get on SSB and/or FM. There's a provision in the
rules for encouraging a newcomer to observe your operations.
