Comments:

I had commitments on Saturday but had been hoping to get set up with
the full 10-band station on Sunday.  Hurricane Ike put a stop to that.
I decided that I wasn't going to totally miss out on it, though, and
headed for the hills for the last 3 hours of the contest as a
QRP-Portable on 144 MHz only. In the rain.

I did work three all-time new grids on 144 MHz in this one - WA2KBZ/0
in EM38, KA0PQW in EN33 and N0PB in EM39.

The weather this weekend was remarkably similar to the operation I did
a few years ago in this same contest with Bob N5RP on Bald Knob, IL.
A hurricane drenched us in that one, too.

It was also reminiscent of my very first VHF contest, when I went to a
hill with just 144 MHz. I did better this time though - I guess
equipment improvements and better op!
