[NLRS] Future of the 144.240 west thru north net

I haven't done the net the last two weeks because
there was the 432 sprint, and then last week I wanted
to see the presidential debate. Tonight, I will try to look
west thru north from 8:00pm to 8:30pm on 144.240.

3 weeks ago, when I did look west thru north on
144.240, from 8pm to 8:30pm, there wasn't anyone
around. That was the first time in 3 months we've had
a shutout.

Most Wednesdays, I'm doing the regular Badger
Contesters net on 144.250, at 8:30pm anyway. It's
no big deal to do the 144.240 deal for a while beforehand.

I've also emailed about 40 hams in my log from Western
Illinois, Iowa and far S Minnesota. Guys who may not be
reachable via the CVVHF and NLRS email reflectors. I
emailed them a month ago to let them know I'd be happy to
try and include them as well. You know, to increase numbers
and have a better net.

Well... only 2 responded, so I'm not sure if there's that much
interest on their part. I will email again and see if things perk
up.

What I'm asking you VHF friends is this:
    1) If you think the net is worthwhile, keep trying to check in.
I realize propagation is often tough, but that doesn't bother me
a bit. I enjoy digging out weak ones.
    2) If you think the net is worthwhile, let others know it
exists.
    3) Even if we have lousy conditions on a given night, and we
don't hear each other, it still means that plenty of you may hear
each other and you can have your own fun on the air.
The only purpose with this is to try and stir up activity.
Anybody can do this, but it does seem like a lot of folks enjoy
knowing there's a scheduled time for it.

Any comments, questions feel free to email me.

Time to email the IL/IA guys again...
     73, thanks for your time,
     Todd KC9BQA EN63ao 40 N of Milwaukee
     50 thru 2304
