Hi Scott,
I have one that I have used. It is a Direct TV type. However,
there isn't any real difference between the different varieties.
I feed it with a home brew horn designed with HDL_ANT.
The dish is 18". It was measured at a little over 27 dBi.
I find it hard to feed the dish as my transverter it to big to
mount at the feed. I use a short run of 1/4" hardline which
makes it a little hard to aim the dish. The hard line is rather
stiff.
You might want to look in to the WiFi dishes. They have about
the same gain, are much easier to aim and to feed (they feed from
the back of the dish). Look for HyperLink Technologies, they carry
a grid dish that most of the ops on 5.7 around here are using.
