Hi all, glad to see some traffic on the upcoming UHF Contest and RoverMania V.

We plan to be operating down here in EN13 – all bands 222 MHz thru 24 GHz.

Those of you who are planning your routes, here are a few reasons to “Rove Iowa”

Lots of great wide open rover spots down here with no trees to get in the way.
Flood water is towards the east, no real flooding here on the west side of the state.
The corn is a month behind. You wont have to stand of the roof of your car with your dish…
Very few mosquitoes in comparison to the northland.
Long mileage paths on all bands are a cakewalk.
I hear a monster tropo opening will be in place to the south, east and south east, but the tropo will only extend up to about I-90.
Tornado season will be over by then.
Supposed to be really cool, 71 degrees with low humidity, which is very typical for August down here…
The wind will not blow at all…not very windy around here anyway…
The occasional T-storm cell runs through for rainscatter contacts, but never hits right on top of you. Normally these line up perfectly with who ever you need to make a qso with.
It won’t be harvest season yet, so no big tractors or farm implements impeding your speedy transition to the next grid.
Oh, and the state troopers will be on vacation that week…
Gas prices will be lower than the national average….otherwise just dump in some E-80 and see what happens.
Newly Wed rover teams will showered with rice, uhhh, corn in Sioux County.
If you stop by, I will take your picture and put it on the website.
If you need a place to sleep a few hours, we will work something out…Caution – screaming children a possibility…
If you’re still around after the contest, refreshments provided before you get on your way.
Win the prestigious and highly competitive KM0T “Rovers Corner Award”

So, that’s all I can come up with for now…I had not heard of anyone committed to roving Iowa, or should be committed if they do so ☺ That’s why I put this out, that way you can make an informed decision on your route based on solid information.

Our new state slogan

Rove Iowa…it’s the National Microwave Playground
