   Good day,

Well we've got the August UHF contest only 74
hours away. Link to the rules, if you need one:

http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2008/uhf.html

Tropo forecasts look very encouraging; there
could well be a period of enhanced conditions.

Everyone get on for this one. Look for the
EN44 multi-op (K9CVC), look for the EN52xc
multi-op (KI9R), and of course, spray RF all
across the Rovermaniacs in NLRS-land.

WB8BZK will also be roving EN51/61/62/52
with a good station and power on 222, 432 and
1296. Liasion frequency for 'BZK will be 144.260.

Stations that only have FM for 223 and 440, get on
the air and make some Q's. I know that I've worked
plenty of stations cross-polarized out to 100 miles
on 222.5 and 223.5 FM, and I appreciate every Q.

But about the net tonight -- it's a go. Once again,
I start at 8pm on 144.240, and I only look west thru
north. My location is EN63ao, or 40 N of Milwaukee.

I do this until 8:30, moving the beams thru the
quadrant at least twice. At 8:30, I have to QSY and
look south to do the regular Badger net on 144.250.

Plenty of you have checked in or tried, and I'm very
pleased by the turnout. One of these nights, we'll get
some enhanced conditions (tonight??) and we'll be
really busy.

The purpose of this is to stir up weak-signal activity
in W and N Wis, as well as adjacent portions of Minn,
Iowa and the U.P. of Mich. I also hope that after I
QSY, stations will continue to look around on or about
144.240. After all, anyone can get on the air and call
CQ, nudge, nudge. :) :)

     73,
     Todd KC9BQA EN63ao 40 north of Milwaukee
     50 thru 2304
