Its only three weeks away ! I'm spending a very Zen-like time
reassembling my rover rack today. The 2304 & 3456 antennas were removed for the SBMS
event, so getting those back on & making sure all the antenna hardware is
tight & waterproof and SWR is good. I should have 222 thru 10 GHz operational,
all but the top two from inside a dry car !

So what are YOU doing for Rovermania ? Its 222 and up, so there will be
good activity on the common bands of 222, 432 and 1296. Wanna have a fun Sat
evening or Sunday morning ? Grab your multiband rig and try a little roving,
or, heck, just get on. How about a multi-op at Buck Hill ? I do have a
2 watt 17dB horn 10 GHz system, ready to go, just needs 13.8vdc from a power
pole connector, to lend out to any Buck Hill operation that wants to give it
a try .... I have no doubt that from that location you will work all the
rovers (including ME !!). I also have a few antennas to loan out as needed ....
just ask !

222: Homebrew 3 ele 24" boom, measured at CS at 7.3 dB
432: CC boomer modified to K1FO, 17' boom, knocks down to three sections
for easy transport
902: HB cheap yagi, 3' boom, 11.2 dB measured at CS
3456: 5' end mount looper, just like I use for roving.
5760 Small HyperLink dish (HG5822G) 16" x 11", 21.1 dB measured at CS.

So lets go ! Get those transverters fixed, get some antennas up, give
portable or roving a thought. Regardless, get on, make a few Q's and SEND IN A
LOG, .... we are fighting for our bands. Remember, paper logs ARE ok ....
they do not have to be electronic.

Don't forget about 223.5 FM either. Lets crank it up, August 2 and 3. This
one END at 1800z on Sunday, so don't think about getting on Sunday night for
a few Q's as it will be over. Its only 24 hrs.

73, Jon
