Hello NLRS land.
Three items for your attention this morning.
1) NLRS Breakfast is this Saturday, January 12, at the Old Country
Buffet in Richfield. Eggs and bacon are hot at 8:30 am +/- tolerance.
Bring your most recent project for show & tell. Bring your questions
and ideas too.
2) The ARRL's January VHF contest is the following weekend, January 19
& 20. Please get on, make some noise, and send in a log with "NLRS" as
your club. I do plan to operate from my home station, 6m through 3456,
but depending on the weather may do a mini-rove too - will have to
watch the weather as the contest draws closer.
3) The Minnesota QSO Party is Saturday, Feb 2, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
local. Activity can be found on both HF and VHF. Minnesota works the
world (including other MN stations) and the world works MN stations. If
you are in MN the contest exchange is that you send your first name and
what county you are in (example: "Jon, Hennipen") while they send their
name and State/Province. Everything you need to know can be found at
www.w0aa.org and click on MnQP. There is a free software logging
program, rules, list of county abbreviations to use on CW, a check
sheet to scratch them off as you work them, and a really cool map that
shows where the mobiles are going to be. All 87 Minnesota counties
will be active ! W0ZQ/m will be out and about and using APRS that can
be accessed from this website - check it out.
73, Jon
W0ZQ
