Hello NLRS land

The San Bernardino Microwave Society has published the results from last
years 2 GHz & Up contest. Congradulations to the Northern Lights Radio Society
for their first place finish with 195,166 points from 12 logs. Second place
went to the Front Range Microwave Society with a score of 72,025 points from
11 logs. You can see the brief posting at
http://www.ham-radio.com/sbms/2007_2ghz-up_test.pdf .

One of the great things about VHF/UHF/uW contesting is the diversity. The
CQ WW VHF contest is well positioned with just 6m and 2m as are the Spring
and Fall Sprints. The ARRL's big three currently use all bands. The ARRL's
August UHF contest is 222 and up while their 10 GHz contest is 10 GHz and Up.
This SBMS is well positioned for contesting on 2304 and up. With such
diversity we can all find ways to have fun at different times on different
bands. The SBMS has not posted the dates for the 2008 contest, so we will be
watching for that.

Again, congratulations to the NLRS for a first time first place finish in
this fun event.

73, Jon
