Jon and NLRSers,

Before we all start "jumping for joy" about this, please note that
ARRL Contest Manager, Sean Kutzko/KX9X, has posted (to VHFcontesting
and to the Stanford VHF reflectors) that this posting of the rules for
the June 2008 VHF QSO Party on the web page is incorrect and that
"Changes will be made to the June VHF rules page to reflect this."

APRS may still be used ONLY by Multi-operator stations.

Here's a link to Sean's posting in the VHFcontesting Reflector
archives
http://lists.contesting.com/_vhfcontesting/2008-04/msg00100.html

Duffey, KK6MC, who discovered the "change" in rules initially and
posted the discovery to the reflectors, observed (in Sean's 'denial'
of the change) that Sean had invoked the "VHF Rule" that "only
Multi-operator stations my use APRS data" BUT the ARRL Rule Structure
ALSO states that rules for individual contests supercede "frequency
range" rules (<30 MHz/HF or >50MHz VHF) which then supercede "General
Rules for All ARRL Contests".

I HOPE Sean clarifies this QUICKLY (and authoritatively).

73, JK
