Greetings BCers and NLRSers,
K9JK will be Slash-R-ing tonight, Tuesday 4/15 7pm - 11pm "local
time", from around the EN51/52/61/62 Grid Corner.
I'll be trying 222.100 MHz regularly and trying to use 222.090 as a
"lurk" frequency (maybe even as a "run" frequency? I can hope, can't
I?).
I will also be checking FM, 223.5 MHz (and let's get it so busy that
we have to spread from THERE, too!...223.52, 223.54, etc.), *trying*
to do it consistently at 15 and 45 after each hour but may miss those
actual times and may be there at additional times.
My "roving/time plan" will be to START at Nickol Knoll (NW Arlington
Heights), EN62ad, from 0000 UTC to about 0050/0100. When I leave there
I will be mobile through EN52xd,xc,xb,xa to a parking lot (in SW Elk
Grove Village) where I can hit EN51xx AND EN52xa. I should be set-up
there at around 0105/0115 and would stay there until anywhere from
0145 to 0200 before hopping over to EN61ax (S-Central Elk Grove
Village) planning to be there for about 1/2 hour. That may be it or,
if it sounds like there will be some more "action", I might return to
EN62ad, to get there before 0300 UTC (end time for those in the
eastern time zone), for a last shot to see if any folks from thataway
that I might have missed at the start have stuck it out until the end
and then for a bit after 0300 for others in central time that I might
have missed from EN62 at the start (and who have ALSO persevered into
the 4th hour).
The equipment complement will be a FT-736R driving a TE Systems brick
for both CW/SSB and for FM with a CrunchCraft 225WB (armstrong or
vehicle rotatable) and a KU4AB Loop for horizontal and 'just' a 1/4
wave for vertical for antennas.
I will also be APRS Beaconing, K9JK-9 with the "Rover" (puppy) symbol,
and hoping it is more "regular" tonight than it was last Monday, there
was an hour gap in what was "captured" from me in the raw packets that
I downloaded so I don't know if I was out of range of any
digipeaters/iGates or if something was wrong with my set-up. Check me
out on aprs.fi or findu.com.
Belated thanks to all who were on last Monday for 144...I *HOPE* to
find many of you (and others!) on tonight for 222.
73, JK
