Hi John, thanks for the Q's this  weekend.   Conventional wisdom would direct 
you to the Bird 43 with  its various slugs for different power & freq.  A 
very very versital and  long lasting piece of equipement for your station that 
you will keep and use  forever and that you will spend some money for.  The Bird 
43 itself can be  used on HF thru UHF with different slugs.

The Daiwa CN-801 Type H covers  1.8 thru 200 MHz (almost 222 !) with 20, 200, 
and 2K power ranges - I use one on  144.  Never tried it on 222.   The Daiwa 
CN-103L covers 140 thru  525, but only up to 200 watts.
